Design: The cable splice consists of an impact-resistant mould with flexible sealing rings between the mould and the cable. Casting resin and hardener are precisely measured in a two-chamber bag. SMARTA should not be installed at temperatures below –10°C.
When splicing paper-insulated cable, and at transitions between paper- and plastic-insulated cable, the PPC accessory set must be used.
When splicing plastic-insulated cable to paper-insulated cable, sleeves with intermediate walls must be used.

Design: The splice comes complete with screw splice sleeves for wires and sheath. Oil barrier tubes, mastic, conductor tubes and breakouts are used in order to prepare the paper cable to make it resemble a plastic cable. The wires are spliced using the supplied splice sleeves, which have screw heads that come off at the right torque. The splice sleeves have partitions and are intended for both aluminium and copper wires. Mastic is wound above the splice sleeves. Field control heat-shrink tubing and screened insulation tubes supplement the phase insulation. A fabric-reinforced folding sleeve is used as outer jacket.

The putty has been tested by Sveriges Provnings- and Forskningsinstitut [Sweden's Test and Research Institute] (SP), report no. F3 00660.

Cable joint with a heat-shrink sleeve for insulation of the conductor and a heat-shrink sleeve for the outer jacket. With copper sock to connect the screen wires.
