A-GRID geonet is used to reinforce friction material on roads and other paved surfaces. A-GRID can be used to reinforce roads built on land with poor bearing capacity like clay and marshland. Due to its rigid structure A-GRID locks fast friction material in a so-called pre-chill. Upon loading it imparts in a horizontal power transmission to the geonet, at the same time contributes to the geonet increasing and maintaining compression of the filling masses, which results in a significant increase in load capacity. With geonet’s reinforced effect it is possible to reduce the layer thickness, which provides significant cost savings. The experience shows that the layer thickness can be reduced by 30-50% by incorporating geonet in unbound layer.
