Sealing plate Preprufe-Contaflex PCF

Preprufe-Contaflex is a joint plate where the lower part is coated with bentonite expansion tape. The bentonite is provided with a protective foil which disintegrates after insertion and the swelling process begins. The top part is equipped with Preprufe. Preprufe is self-adhesive against the concrete and is not affected by the weather. The system takes advantage of a traditional barrier system (such as PVC tape). Bentonite is based on natural sodium pentonite with a high swelling degree and retains its swelling properties at varying water levels. When the bentonite is activated, it provides increased pressure in the cast iron. Water proof properties at joints is secured through a 100 mm overlap over the longitudinal direction with bentonite between the steel plates.
