The edge iron is an effective and attractive edge ferule for casting. When concrete slabs are cast for garages or similar items, the slabs edges in all port orifices are reinforced with an edge iron. the edge iron is effectively a wear-resistant threshold with a long lfe. The rounded edge also provides soft passage when a vehicle passes. The edge plate is also used for columns and loading platforms, etc.
