Uniguard UG8 is developed to measure flue gases in ventilation ducts and consists of a smoke detector and a duct enclosure system specially adapted for optimal airflow through the smoke detector.

UG8 can be mounted on either side of the duct. UG8 is delivered with a rotation detail that, together with the chosen venturi tube, is mounted on the ventilation duct. It also has a "FLOW arrow" for easy installation in the correct airflow direction. The direction of the arrow should match the airflow direction in the duct. The patent-pending detector enclosure with cable entries can be rotated in any direction to adapt to the characteristics of the installation site. Both the cover for the smoke detector chamber and the junction chamber have snap locks for quick handling.

The detector has an intelligent monitoring circuit that continuously checks and adjusts the sensitivity for optimal function throughout the detector's lifespan. When the detector can no longer compensate for contamination and is approaching a false alarm, a service alarm is indicated.

The detector is equipped with a bayonet fitting, making it easy to install and remove.

UG8 can be used with Calectro's ST280 and ST580 as well as the extension tube ST-EXTEND.
